Thursday: Nordens Hus, Palaces, and Towers
Today we went to visit the Nordens Hus (Nordic house), which is a center for Nordic countries in Europe.
The Nordic countries are: Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Faroe islands, Greenland and Åland. We met Sanna Oksanen who explained more to us about the Nordic house and the target of the cooperation of the Nordic countries. Because we were there as guests, they invited us for lunch. After lunch we had an opportunity to meet with the translators, who told us about their roles in the Nordic house. In fact, to have this visit was a precious experience for us.
We continue our trip by visiting the tower of Christiansborg Palace, which is one of the highest towers in Copenhagen. From there we saw the amazing views of the city. At that time we visited some more good places in Copenhagen and we decided to go to Frederik's church also known as the Marble Church which is very old and beautiful. We then visited Amalienborg Palace where the King lives and it's museum where we watched some videos of the new Danish King's investiture.
We finished our day by choosing to visit the Glyptotek art museum or cycling to discover more of the Copenhagen.
The
art museum is really attractive to most of the tourists like us, who
want to know about the Danish kingdom's history. There are many statues
that describe a lot about the daily life of Danish people in the former
time.
Honestly, to come back to Denmark another time would be
wonderful and we could learn more deeply about the things that
interested us.
